Mongkol Surasajja Dodges Questions on Leaked Senate Election Video

Bangkok: Senate President Mongkol Surasajja refused to comment on a leaked voting slip for the Senate election, diverting inquiries to Parit Wacharasindhu. The incident has stirred controversy after a video was released by the People’s Party, raising suspicions about the election proceedings.

According to Thai News Agency, Mongkol Surasajja declined to address the allegations that surfaced after Parit Wacharasindhu, a list MP and deputy leader of the People’s Party, shared a video clip from the Senate election day. The clip purportedly shows an individual handing a sheet of paper to an Election Commission official, with speculation suggesting that the individual might be Mongkol himself.

In response to the reporters’ questions, Mongkol stated, “Go ask him. Why are you asking me?” Despite repeated attempts by the press to gain clarification on his involvement, Mongkol refrained from making further comments. His colleague intervened during the questioning, stating that the interview had concluded, before both walked away, leaving the matter unresolved.
