Hat yai: The Royal Thai Army's mobile floating medical unit has mobilized a team of military doctors to deliver essential medical services to the residents of Hat Yai, who are grappling with severe flooding.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, through its Disaster Relief Center, Support Office, and Army Development Command (RDA), has dispatched a mobile military medical and nursing team to the Hat Yai District in Songkhla Province. This initiative aims to offer care and support to those impacted by the persistent floods that have inundated various communities. The deployed team employs boats to reach flood-stricken areas, providing treatment for common ailments and distributing necessary medicine and medical supplies to individuals stranded and unable to seek medical help.
The mobile unit has also set up medical and first aid service points to aid residents in need of wound care, general medical treatment, and emergency medication. To ensure broader coverage, additional service points have been established at roundabouts throughout Hat Yai, facilitating easier and faster access to treatment for city dwellers. Beyond healthcare provision, the medical team is relocating vulnerable groups, including the elderly, bedridden patients, and children, from flooded homes to temporary shelters and safe hospitals, mitigating health risks and potential dangers from the floodwaters. This effort is part of a coordinated collaboration with local agencies and network partners, designed to offer comprehensive public assistance and reduce the health impacts associated with the ongoing flooding.
