Bangkok: The Ministry of Public Health has conducted a meeting to assess the impact of recent border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia, which resulted in 14 deaths and 31 injuries. Dr. Weerawut Imsamran, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, chaired the session, providing a comprehensive report on the medical and public health situation. As of July 25, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., a total of 45 individuals have been affected, including 14 fatalities, with injuries categorized into 7 serious (red cases), 13 moderate (yellow cases), and 11 minor (green cases).
According to Thai News Agency, the casualties are distributed across several provinces. Ubon Ratchathani Province reported 1 death and 4 injuries, including 3 serious cases. Sisaket Province has been the most affected, with 8 deaths, 3 serious injuries, and a total of 23 individuals impacted. In Surin Province, there were 5 deaths, and a total of 15 individuals were affected, including various levels of injuries. Buriram Province reported 2 injuries.
The impact on medical facilities is significant, with 11 service locations affected across the four provinces. In Ubon Ratchathani, Na Ha Luai Hospital is operating only emergency services, while Nam Khun Hospital and Nam Yuen Hospital are closed. Sisaket's Kantharalak Hospital and Phusing Hospital have both closed. In Surin, Prasat Hospital and Sangkha Hospital remain partially operational, but Kabcheing Hospital and Phanom Dongrak Hospital are closed. In Buriram, Ban Krawt Hospital and Prakonchai Hospital have ceased operations.
