Bangkok:First paragraph of the news story.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Education has joined forces with teachers across the nation to assist people in applying for flood relief funds of 9,000 baht. Mr. Akranan Kankittinant, Deputy Minister of Education, emphasized the necessity of ensuring that those in need have access to their rights, even if they lack computer literacy.
Flooding in many areas has caused significant hardship, necessitating urgent access to government assistance. However, many people, particularly the elderly and those in remote areas, face challenges in submitting applications due to a lack of proficiency in using electronic systems. To address this, the Ministry has tasked the Department of Learning Extension and its teachers to actively engage with affected communities, facilitating the application process for government compensation.
Dr. Ketsathip Suphavanich, Director-General of the Department of Learning Promotion, has instructed related agencies and educational institutions to assess the situation in flood-affected areas and assist those unable to submit applications online. The aim is to ensure everyone can access their entitled government assistance.
Mr. Akranan highlighted that the Ministry's role extends beyond education, as teachers are integral to the community. In crises, they can coordinate and facilitate access to government services. The Ministry's initiative focuses on reaching disaster-stricken populations, especially those with technological limitations, to ensure comprehensive support and leave no one behind.
