Bangkok: The Minister of Tourism and Sports visited and cheered on the Thai men's baseball team on the field before their 16-0 thrashing of Vietnam in their opening match at the 2025 SEA Games. The men's baseball competition at the 33rd SEA Games at the Queen Sirikit 60th Birthday Stadium, Thanyaburi District (Rangsit Khlong 6) on December 5, 2025, saw the Thai national team debut against the Vietnamese national team. Before the competition, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, traveled to inspect the readiness of the competition field and give encouragement to athletes from both nations.
According to Thai News Agency, for the entire 9 innings of competition, it appeared that the Thai men's baseball team showed excellent form. After playing only 5 innings, they scored a clear 16-0 run lead over Vietnam, winning by knockout, not having to play the remaining 4 innings, making the Thai men's national baseball team their first victory in the SEA Games.
The next match, the Thai national team will meet the Lao PDR national team on December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Queen Sirikit 60th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Thanyaburi District (Rangsit Khlong 6).
In the men's baseball competition at the 33rd SEA Games, seven nations will compete in a round-robin format. The first and second-place teams will advance to the gold medal round, while the third and fourth-place teams will compete for the bronze medal.
