Hat yai: The Forward Command Center has dispatched a team of military doctors to Hat Yai to provide medical care to people amid the flooding. The Forward Command Center of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, through the Disaster Relief Center, Support Office, Army Development Command, has deployed a team of military doctors and nurses to Songkhla Province's Hat Yai District to care for those affected by persistent flooding. The team is using boats to reach stranded individuals, offering treatment for common ailments and distributing necessary medicine and medical supplies.
According to Thai News Agency, the unit has established medical and first aid service points to assist residents needing wound care, general medical treatment, and urgent medication. To enhance accessibility, additional service points have been set up at roundabouts in Hat Yai, facilitating quicker access to treatment and health care for urban residents. Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, bedridden patients, and children, are being relocated from flooded homes to temporary shelters and safe hospitals to mitigate health risks and potential dangers from the floodwaters.
This initiative is part of a coordinated effort with local agencies and network partners to provide comprehensive support to the public and reduce health impacts from the ongoing flooding. The Royal Thai Army has affirmed its preparedness by mobilizing medical personnel and ensuring thorough support to monitor the situation closely.
