Bangkok:The Meteorological Department has issued Warning No. 6 concerning unstable weather conditions expected to affect upper Thailand from November 5-7, initiating in the Northeast. The regions of the North, Central, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, and the East are anticipated to experience similar conditions in the subsequent days. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rain is forecasted for the South from November 7-9.
According to Thai News Agency, the announcement highlights that the upper part of Thailand will encounter weather disturbances including thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and heavy rainfall in specific areas. The public is advised to exercise caution, particularly avoiding open areas, large trees, and unstable advertising signs during these conditions.
Furthermore, from November 7-9, an increase in rainfall is expected, with heavy rain in several areas and very heavy rain in some locations. The public is urged to remain vigilant for potential dangers from accumulated rainfall, which could lead to flash floods and landslides, especially in slopes near waterways and low-lying areas.
These weather conditions are attributed to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreading over northern Thailand and the South China Sea, resulting in stronger easterly winds across Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, sea waves may exceed 2 meters in height, prompting sailors in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea to exercise caution and avoid navigating through areas with thunderstorms.
