Meeting Held to Address Protection of Thai Youth from E-Cigarettes

Bangkok: A meeting was convened to promote measures aimed at safeguarding Thai youth from the risks associated with e-cigarettes. Held in Meeting Room 301, Building 1, the gathering was led by Mrs. Pornphat Rodphothong Boonthanom, Secretary to the Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, on behalf of Mr. Santi Piyatat, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting focused on strategies to build immunity among Thai youth against e-cigarettes. Participants from different sectors highlighted the need to curb the sources of e-cigarette imports and monitor young children, particularly those aged 6-7 years and above. The meeting underscored the importance of involving parents and schools in campaigns aimed at educating children on the dangers of e-cigarettes. There was a particular concern over the modification of e-cigarettes into new formats that are appealing to young children and teenagers.
