MEA Poised to Implement “Solar for the People” Policy with Smart Meter Installation

Bangkok:The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has announced its readiness to install smart meters and integrate them into the power system as part of the government's policy to promote clean energy access.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Dichawat Chan-ee, Governor of MEA, confirmed that the authority is prepared to implement the "Solar for the People" initiative. This policy aims to reduce household expenses sustainably by increasing public access to clean energy. MEA has ensured that there are enough smart meters available and that the grid connection will be completed within the government's stipulated timeframe, maintaining transparency and safety standards.

The public can access project details, eligibility criteria, and pre-registration information, along with user guides for citizens and installers, through MEA's dedicated website. Additionally, individuals can choose installation service providers from a list available on the project’s website, ensuring they meet the project's registration criteria.

For further assistance, MEA provides contact options via LINE MEA Connect, MEA Call Center 1130, and at all 18 district offices, available around the clock.
