In the women's singles second round, "May" Ratchanok Intanon, the second seed and world number 7, showcased her prowess. Ratchanok, a two-time former champion, faced Karlojana Nalbantova, world number 46 from Bulgaria, and secured a victory with a score of 2-0 (21-15 and 21-11), thus advancing to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, "Pink" Pichamon Opasanipat, ranked 27th in the world, triumphed over Nguyen Thuy Linh, the 7th seed and world number 21 from Vietnam, in two straight games, 21-18 and 21-10. This victory secured her a spot in the quarterfinals, where she is set to face a challenging opponent, Chen Yu fei, the top seed from China, tomorrow.
