Marathon Interrogation of “Madam Oi” in 71 Million Baht Fraud Case Continues Without Setting Date for “Lawyer Tum” Testimony.

Bangkok: The Crime Suppression Division has been conducting an extensive interrogation of Ms. Chatuphon, known as "Madam Oi," as part of the ongoing investigation into the 71 million baht fraud case. Despite the marathon questioning session, no appointment has yet been scheduled for "Lawyer Tum," Mr. Sittra, to provide his statement in the matter. According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Jiraphop Phuridet, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Montree Thesakan, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division, provided updates on the investigation. Madam Oi had filed a complaint against Lawyer Tum, alleging that she was deceived into investing in an online lottery business, leading to a significant financial loss. The authorities are still in the process of interrogating Madam Oi, while other related aspects of the case are under further scrutiny. There are allegations concerning a separate 39 million baht transaction, where Lawyer Tum reportedly conned Madam Oi into tra nsferring funds to settle debts with people close to her. This claim remains under investigation. Today's inquiry encompasses the entire scenario, including the history of acquaintance and interactions between Madam Oi and Lawyer Tum, as well as other relevant circumstances, to determine any potential wrongdoing. Initially, Madam Oi has charged Lawyer Tum with fraud. A dedicated working group has been established, headed by Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Saengnum, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, to manage the case and compile necessary data. Should any connections to other agencies be discovered, they will be consulted accordingly. The authorities emphasize that Lawyer Tum is considered a citizen under the jurisdiction of the same legal system. The police assure impartiality and adherence to the law, affirming fairness to all involved parties. The decision on summoning Lawyer Tum is pending the accumulation of sufficient information; he will be invited to testify at an appropriate time. The i ssuance of a summons or arrest warrant remains under evaluation, contingent on factual findings and investigative progress. Authorities assure that any unlawful activity will be addressed with full legal recourse. At present, the interrogation of Madam Oi has surpassed five hours and is still ongoing, as investigators continue to collect crucial information.
