Bangkok:The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in collaboration with NIDA Poll has released the results of the NIDA Environment Poll 2026, reflecting the views of Thai people on environmental changes. The survey indicates that 65.6% of Thais are concerned about the future environmental situation, anticipating it to worsen over the next decade.
According to Thai News Agency, the poll surveyed 1,310 respondents aged 18 and above across Thailand. It found that 71.6% of participants have noticed changes in weather patterns, suggesting that environmental issues are becoming part of everyday life for many. Furthermore, 66.18% of those surveyed believe these changes impact health, while 31.22% say they affect their daily lives.
Despite concerns about the future, there are positive trends in behavior. The survey reveals that 88.2% of respondents have already started modifying their habits to address environmental challenges. This shift from awareness to action is seen as crucial for societal sustainability.
The Faculty of Environmental Development Administration at NIDA emphasizes that tackling environmental issues requires not only awareness but also effective management and knowledgeable personnel. The institution offers graduate programs aimed at developing experts in environmental management and sustainability.
The survey methodology involved a sample of diverse demographics using multiple-stage sampling and telephone interviews, maintaining a margin of error of no more than 0.05.
