Bang Pa-in:The M6 motorway section from Bang Pa-in to Hin Kong is now open in both directions, offering an alternative route to avoid flooded areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the government has facilitated this travel option by initiating a trial service on the M6 motorway section between Bang Pa-in and Hin Kong. This decision was made in response to the policy directives of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. The motorway will be available from today until October 11, 2026, or until the flooding situation improves.
Ms. Phlontale Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, noted that the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport, has acted through the Intercity Expressway Division to open the motorway segment. The aim is to provide travelers with an additional option to bypass routes affected by flooding.
The trial service is set to begin at 6:00 PM today, October 6, 2026, and will run until midnight on October 11, 2026, unless conditions improve sooner. Ms. Ploytalay emphasized that the Department of Highways will closely monitor the situation to ensure effective route management and minimize travel disruptions for the public.
