Bangkok: "Lawyer Tum," making an unusual entrance on a jet ski while sporting a life jacket, has approached the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to submit a formal request for an inquiry into the dealings of the Kanjompalang Foundation. He alleges the presence of dummy accounts and discrepancies in the management of donations.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sittha Biabangkerd, known as Lawyer Tum, made his dramatic arrival in a swimsuit, life jacket, and fake mustache, before submitting a letter to the DSI's Director-General. The letter calls for scrutiny of the "Gun Jompalang Help Fight Foundation," backed by "secret video clips" purporting to show covert operations. After his jet ski entrance, Lawyer Tum changed into a red suit, denying any attempt to attract attention but emphasizing the need to spotlight how charity operations can be manipulated.
Lawyer Tum disclosed that he has gathered significant information potentially pointing to a criminal network. This includes allegations of cash payments to foundation workers to avoid leaving a trail and the recruitment of affiliates to set up 'mover' accounts for a fee of 5,000 baht each. He highlighted a suspicious overnight transfer of over 10 million baht into a single account. Additionally, he raised concerns about a 10 million baht transfer into the account of the secretary of Gun Jompalang's wife, questioned inconsistencies in the pricing of Level 4 armor, and criticized the use of donated materials for bunker fundraising. Lawyer Tum also demanded clarity regarding Gun Jompalang's connections with suspects involved in an online gambling case and insisted on transparent reporting of the foundation's financial activities. He remarked on the intimidation of witnesses due to the other party's influential connections and is preparing to present witnesses to the DSI to support legal proceedings.
