An earthquake measuring 4.9 on Richter scale hit western Laos, shaking buildings in Thailand's Nan province.
The Meteorological Department said the earthquake happened at 05.10am inside Laos, 37 kilometres away from Thailand Nan's Ban Charng village in Tambon Kunnan, Chalermphrakiat district to the northeast.
The epi-centre of the earthquake is 10 kilometres deep into the earth surface.
Initial report said no property was damaged but residents living in high rise buildings in Nan town could feel the tremour.
