Khon kaen: The long-standing land dispute in Khon Kaen province has reached a conclusion with the official transfer of the land title to Wat Pa Adulyaram. The change in ownership from Mr. Hiang to the temple marked the end of the conflict, celebrated with applause. The abbot of the temple has decided to forgive those who defamed him and will not seek legal action against them.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ananchai Chaiyadej, President of the Dhamma Army Lawyers Foundation, along with his legal team, accompanied Phra Kru Adulsaranithet, the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram, to the Khon Kaen Provincial Land Office. They engaged in discussions with land officials and related agencies, including Professor Thongthong Chantrangsu, Chairman of the National Committee for the Protection of Buddhism.
Land officials have completed the process of registering the new name on the land title deed. The change from Mr. Hiang Phimsri, the former village headman, to "Wat Pa Adulyaram" was made official with the signing and stamping of the deed. The abbot, Phra Khru Adulsaranithet, received the deed in the presence of media, the temple committee, and witnesses, amidst cheers of "Sadhu" (blessings).
The original title deed will be securely stored at the Khon Kaen Provincial Office of Buddhism. A copy of the deed has been provided to the temple for its records. Meanwhile, the criminal investigation into the false reporting of a lost title deed to procure a replacement continues.
