His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on Friday presented 300 sets of relief materials to flood victims in Surat Thani province.
The relief materials were handed over to the victims at the children's development centre in Ban Pak Bang in Tambon Tha Kham, Poonpin district of Surat Thani by the King's representative, ACM Yothin Prayoonpokaraj.
Surat Thani deputy governor Supawat Sakda disclosed that there are 569 households in Ban Pak Bang but only 300 of them were affected by flooding. About 80 percent of vegetable plots and guava orchards were damaged.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said on Friday that HM the King was concerned with the sufferings of southern flood victims and ordered the government to try to solve the flooding problem on sustainable basis.
