Kamphaeng phet: A homeowner was startled when a king cobra slithered into their house. They called rescue services to catch the snake and release it back into the wild. According to Thai News Agency, a 3.80-meter-long king cobra entered the house through a window, prompting a rescue operation that lasted over 30 minutes before the snake was safely captured and released back into the wild.
Rescuers in Kamphaeng Phet province engaged in a tense search for the snake inside a single-story concrete house located in Moo 3, Tambon Phetchomphu, Kosamphinakhon district. The black king cobra was eventually found coiled near a window, hidden behind a wardrobe. As capturing the snake from the outside proved impossible, the rescue team entered the house, using snake-catching equipment to snare the cobra by its head. Due to the snake's formidable strength, the rescue operation took over half an hour. After successfully capturing the cobra, rescuers measured it at an impressive 3.80 meters. The snake was then placed in a sack and released back into the wild, deliberately far from human settlements, as the surrounding area is predominantly sugarcane fields.
The homeowner, who first heard a rustling sound near the window, discovered the snake slithering into their home and promptly alerted rescue services. They noted that while cobras and rat snakes had previously entered their house, this incident marked the first encounter with a king cobra.
