Pyongyang: North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported today that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said North Korea will focus on strengthening and improving the quality of its economic system over the next five years.
According to Thai News Agency, North Korea held its 9th Workers' Party Congress, a crucial meeting to set key policy goals for the next five years. Starting last week and continuing into Monday, party members began outlining five-year plans and goals across various sectors, including military, foreign policy, industry, and agriculture.
Furthermore, during his speech on Monday, Kim defined the next five years as a "phase of full progress," calling for a revolution in thinking, technology, and culture to ensure the effective long-term management of new projects.
Meanwhile, KCNA confirmed that Chinese President Xi Jinping had sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong-un on his re-election as General Secretary of the Workers' Party.
