Khun Phaen Morakot Savings Lottery Offers 40 Million Baht Prize Each Month


Bangkok: The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has introduced the “Khun Phaen Morakot” series of savings lottery tickets, priced at 2,000 baht per unit, with a monthly first prize of 40 million baht. The lottery series also includes 100,000 additional prizes, with a total monthly prize pool exceeding 72 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paisarn Hongthong, Deputy Managing Director of BAAC, announced the launch of the Khun Phaen Morakot series, which comprises savings bonds priced at 2,000 baht per unit with a total issuance of 50 million units. These bonds are categorized into five groups: GF, GG, GH, GI, and GJ, each containing 10 million units, summing up to 100 billion baht. The bonds have a deposit term of two years, offering an interest of 19 baht per unit upon maturity, which equates to an annual interest rate of 0.475 percent. Bondholders are eligible for a first prize of 40 million baht and other prizes each month, with a total of 24 draws scheduled. The draws oc
cur on the 16th of every month, with an exception in January, when it is held on the 17th.

The prize structure includes a first prize category of 40 million baht, four additional first prizes of 1 million baht each, and a second prize category with three spins, awarding 15 prizes of 50,000 baht each. The third prize involves 10 spins, offering 50 prizes of 30,000 baht each, while the fourth prize has 20 spins for 100 prizes of 10,000 baht each. The fifth prize category includes 100 spins for 500 prizes of 5,000 baht each. Additionally, there are smaller prizes for the last four-digit and three-digit numbers, with 5,000 prizes of 500 baht each and 100,000 prizes of 200 baht each, respectively. This results in a total of 105,670 prizes per draw, with a maximum monthly prize total of 72,250,000 baht.

Depositing 1,000 or more lottery units ensures a winning prize in each draw. The Khun Phaen Morakot series will be available for deposit at BAAC branches and via the BAAC Mobile application starting October 17th.
Interest and winnings from these lottery deposits are tax-exempt for individuals. The first draw is set for November 16th, with eligibility for the month determined by deposits made by the 15th.
