Junior High School Students Show Strong Interest in TH-AI Passport Initiative

Nakhon phanom: Middle school students are showing significant interest in the TH-AI Passport, a project designed to empower Thai youth to enter the AI era on equal footing. According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Alongkot Maneekas, a Member of Parliament for Nakhon Phanom Province from the Bhumjaithai Party and Chairman of the Committee on Communications, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy and Society, engaged with junior high school students at Renunakhon Wittayanukul School and That Phanom School. The visit aimed to gather insights into students' opinions and needs related to learning and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Dr. Alongkot noted that the TH-AI Passport project has garnered significant attention, with many students eager to participate despite being under the eligible age of 15. Currently, only Thai nationals who are at least 15 years old on the registration date can participate. He emphasized that the interest from young students highlights the growing importance of AI as a v ital skill for the new generation, with students keen to incorporate AI into their education, research, and skill development. He further mentioned that the field visit was not only to promote the TH-AI Passport project but also to directly hear from young people in the region. The feedback will be used to shape digital and AI policies to better cater to the younger generation's needs. The initiative aims to expand access to AI technology and bridge the digital divide, allowing students under 15 years old to engage with AI learning.
