Jiraporn Seeks 30-Day Extension for Consumer Protection Board Investigation.

Bangkok: "Jiraporn" requests an extension of the investigation period for "the Angel of the Consumer Protection Board" for another 30 days. Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, has officially sought an extension for the ongoing investigation concerning the Office of the Consumer Protection Board's (OCPB) operations related to online businesses. This request comes as the 30-day deadline for the investigation, initiated on October 16, has reached its end. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Jiraporn explained the necessity for this extension, citing the need to interview a significant number of witnesses. The fact-finding committee, which was promptly formed on the first day of the investigation, has already convened and established two subcommittees. One subcommittee is tasked with investigating an audio clip while the other is reviewing the OCPB's existing laws to determine potential amendments or improvements for increased efficiency. The investigation has revealed nume rous witnesses, necessitating an additional 30 days to thoroughly collect facts and evidence. The extension request was formally submitted to Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, who oversees the Prime Minister's Office. Ms. Jiraporn emphasized that the request for additional time is crucial due to the extensive number of witnesses involved. She noted that as the investigation progresses, more facts are expected to surface. Addressing concerns about the audio clip that implicated him, the Prime Minister's Office Minister reassured that there is no cause for worry, as all matters are proceeding through the legal channels.
