Uthai Thani Province is organizing the event 'Wichit Thani, This Place of Uthai 191 Years, Ban Sakae Krang' inviting tourists and participants to wear retro chong kraben and sabai to promote tourism in the province. The atmosphere at Wat Uposatharam, Tambon Sakae Krang, Amphoe Mueang, Uthai Thani Province yesterday evening (22 August) was lively and beautiful because there was an event called 'Vichitra Thani, This Place of Uthai, 191 Years, Ban Sakae Krang' on the first night, with Mr. Thiraphat Kachmat, Governor of Uthai Thani Province, presiding over the opening ceremony. Many citizens and tourists joined the event, all of whom dressed in modern Thai clothing, creating a traditional Thai atmosphere. This event is held to commemorate the history of Uthai Thani Province, which was originally relocated from 'Old Uthai Thani City' or Nong Chang District to Ban Sakae Krang since 1833 or 191 years ago. It also aims to publicize and promote tourism in the province, allowing tourists to experience the way of lif e and continue local wisdom, such as wearing Thai fabrics and immersing themselves in a new perspective of the Sakae Krang River, which in the past was a large market near the banks of the Sakae Krang River, strategically suitable for both transportation and trade. At present, it is also a unique place on the riverbank, with a community of raft people whose way of life is connected to the river. They have raft houses floating in the river, and their occupations are freshwater fisheries and fish farming in cages. The event is beautifully decorated with stalls selling traditional Thai food and modern food to stimulate the tourism atmosphere and distribute income to the community. Tourists who join the event can wear Thai clothing throughout the event, which will last until Sunday, August 25. Source: Thai News Agency
