Bangkok: Immigration police have apprehended two Burmese men for illegally producing and distributing homemade ice cream across the city. The operation involved mixing ingredients like fresh coconut milk on unsanitary conditions and then selling the products throughout Bangkok. According to Thai News Agency, the arrests followed a viral clip featuring a young Myanmar man preparing ice cream using readily available ingredients such as fresh coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, tapioca flour, and salt. The production took place behind shophouses in Soi Bang Kradee, Saem Dam Subdistrict, Bang Khun Thian District, Bangkok, where it was also packaged and distributed. The Immigration Bureau Division 1, in collaboration with the Thonburi task force, conducted a raid on the location and discovered two Myanmar men present. While both possessed passports, one had overstayed his visa, and neither had the appropriate work permits. The men, along with evidence of their ice cream production activities, were taken to S aem Dam Police Station. They face charges for operating a factory without permission and are expected to be deported after court proceedings.
