Huge drug cache seized in Samut Prakarn

Metropolitan police yesterday seized more than 10 million meth pills and arrested two traffickers in one of the city's huge ever drug haul in many years.

The street price of the drug haul is estimated at over a billion baht.

The suspect was identified as Pongsakorn Phravorn, 22.

A huge cache of 10.31 million Meth or speed pills worth a billion baht was seized at his rented house in Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province.

The arrest came after the officers from Metropolitan Police Division 8 received a tip-off from drug suspects who were caught earlier with one million meth pills seized.

They said Pongsakorn was a major drug trafficker who supplied them with the illicit drugs.

Police said the meth pills were smuggled from a neighboring country before being stored in his house before delivering to customers.

Police said the drugs were mainly sold to customers in Greater Bangkok with about 200,000 pills distributed every night.

Some of the pills were sent to the South and sold overseas as the drug gang was found to have change its smuggling routes.
