Nakhon Ratchasima:Heavy rainfall in the Thap Lan National Park, Wang Nam Khiao National Forest Reserve, and Khon Buri National Forest Reserve has led to flash floods in Nakhon Ratchasima province. These floods have caused water to overflow through Kaeng Wang Krathae, resulting in road closures and making travel impossible for villagers.
According to Thai News Agency, the Mun Bon Dam is experiencing significantly increased water levels due to the continuous inflow of water. This morning, 1.03 million cubic meters of water entered the dam, raising the total water storage to 50.92 million cubic meters, which is 36.12% of its normal capacity of 141 million cubic meters.
Currently, the dam has suspended water distribution for agricultural purposes. However, there are plans to resume water distribution to irrigated rice fields once the rice begins to flower. A survey will be conducted to ensure water is distributed to all areas at the same time before a definitive distribution date is set. This strategy aims to ensure efficient water management.
In Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, the Chao Phraya Dam is releasing water downstream, causing river levels to rise by an average of 90 centimeters to 1 meter. This rise affects the Chao Phraya River, Noi River, and various canals. In Bang Bal District, the water level has increased by 79 centimeters and continues to rise.
The flooding has impacted local residents and businesses. Mr. Veerawat, a delivery driver, reported that parcel deliveries are delayed as flooded houses along the Noi River require deliveries to be made by boat. Residents like Mrs. Ratchanee Phutthisan have also been affected, with unexpectedly rapid flooding forcing them to move belongings to higher ground.
