Accompanied by two lawyers, Mrs Jomsap who showed up at the court insisted on her innocence and that she was a scapegoat after the real hit-and-run driver emerged to admit his guilt in the hit-and-run incident about 12 years ago.
The Region 4 Appeals Court earlier ordered a retrial of the case after Mrs Jomsak lodged a complaint with the Justice Ministry following her release from prison having served 18 months in jail.
Meanwhile, Pol Gen Panya Mamen, an inspector-general, alleged that there was an attempt by some elements to paint the police in a bad light by suggesting that Mrs Jomsap was made a scapegoat by the police.
