Hat yai: "Siripong" reveals that the restoration of Hat Yai, encompassing 4 zones, is over 85% complete. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, reported significant progress in the restoration operation in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, as directed by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. The operation has achieved over 85% completion, with the removal of 95,307 tons of waste and the cleaning of 329.44 kilometers of roads. Efforts are ongoing to restore the district to its original condition swiftly.
According to Thai News Agency, the restoration operation was divided into four zones, each managed by different agencies. Zone 1, under the Military Development Command, Royal Thai Armed Forces, successfully removed 18,730 tons of waste and cleaned 74.92 kilometers of roads over 11 days. Zone 2, managed by the Royal Thai Army's 4th Army Area, cleared a total of 37,780 tons of waste and cleaned 124.58 kilometers of roads.
In Zone 3, the Ministry of Interior removed 21,462 tons of waste and cleaned 71.88 kilometers of roads. Meanwhile, Zone 4, overseen by the Ministry of Transport, cleared 17,335 tons of waste and cleaned 58.064 kilometers of roads. The cumulative results from December 1-11, 2025, show a total of 95,307 tons of waste removed and 329.44 kilometers of roads cleaned, representing 83.55% of the assigned area.
The government has been closely monitoring the restoration efforts, ensuring that all agencies coordinate effectively to meet their goals. The primary objectives include enabling residents to return home within 7 days, achieving a clean Hat Yai within 14 days, and restoring the area to the local population as scheduled.
