Bangkok: The Grand Mufti of Thailand, Mr. Arun Bunchaom, along with the Chularatchamontri and numerous members of the public, gathered at the Royal Household Bureau Building 904 in the Grand Palace to sign a book of condolences in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. They reflected on her significant contributions to the Thai Muslim community, including her efforts to enhance employment opportunities for Muslims in the South and her initiative in the distribution of the “Royal Quran and its Thai Translation.”
According to Thai News Agency, the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit served as a focal point for the public at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, where attendees expressed their gratitude for her service. The event saw a steady flow of people arriving at Sanam Luang to pay their respects, with families traveling considerable distances to honor Her Majesty’s memory.
The arrangements for the homage process were designed to accommodate large crowds, with Bangkok expanding its capacity to welcome 2,000-3,000 people daily. Two entry routes were available for visitors, facilitating a smooth flow to the Grand Palace. These routes included access points through the center of Sanam Luang and the Tha Chang waiting area.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) deployed officials and volunteers to assist the public throughout the homage process. Additionally, the Bureau of the Royal Household announced the closure of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram until November 8th for the Royal Merit-Making Ceremony in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.
