Bangkok: The government is preparing to organize activities for National Day and Father's Day on December 5, 2025, which also marks the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. Ms. Yupha Thaweewattanakitborworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Prime Minister has sought royal permission to host these commemorative events.
According to Thai News Agency, the scheduled activities include religious ceremonies, such as Buddhist chanting and merit-making by offering alms to monks. The central ceremony will be held at Sanam Luang with 189 monks, with the Prime Minister and his wife presiding. Parallel ceremonies will take place at provincial halls across the nation and at embassies and consulates abroad.
Additionally, a ceremony involving chanting of Buddhist mantras and meditation, organized by the Supreme Sangha Council, is planned. The National Office of Buddhism will coordinate with temples throughout the Kingdom and Thai temples overseas to conduct these ceremonies.
The government will also facilitate a wreath-laying ceremony to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on December 5, 2025, at provincial halls and embassies worldwide. Furthermore, government agencies will conduct volunteer activities for public benefit and charity in tribute to His Majesty throughout December 2025.
