As the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament to be held in Russia between June 14-July 15 is drawing near, an opinion survey conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration or Nida Poll, revealed that most of the Thai people say Germany, their most favourite team, will be the champion.
The poll was conducted on June 5-6 on 2,001 people throughout the country.
Asked to mention their most favourite team, the national football team of Germany came first with 22.56% of supporters, followed by Brazil 19.49%, England 15.36%, Spain 8.17%, France 4.57%, Argentina 4.04%, Portugal 3.60%, Japan 1.93%, Russia 1.32% and other teams 2.11%. The rest, 16.86%, were uncertain or had no comment.
To the question which team they think will be the champion, Germany came first with 27.22%, followed by Brazil 25.02%, Spain 9.39%, England 7.46%, France 5.27%, Argentina 3.60%, Portugal 3.51%, Russia 2.46%, and other teams 2.81%. The rest, 13.26%, were uncertain or had no comment.
The final tournament involves 32 national teams. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on July 15 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
