Genoa: Serie A side Genoa have appointed former Roma coach Daniele De Rossi as their new manager following the sacking of Patrick Vieira. Genoa decided to sack the French coach as the club had won just one of their first 10 league games and were 18th in the table with six points.
According to Thai News Agency, as recently as November 6th, Genoa announced the appointment of De Rossi as the new coach, but he will still not be able to manage the team on the sidelines in this Sunday's Serie A game against Fiorentina due to serving a one-match ban.
The 42-year-old, who previously managed SPAL, is the first club without a job since taking charge of Roma, with his last match coming in a 1-1 draw away to Genoa in September 2024. He was sacked for protesting against the referee before being sacked by Wolves and has yet to serve his sentence after that match due to his continued absence.
