Bangkok: A heated argument over a parking space at a gas station escalated into a shootout, injuring one person.
According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage captured a pickup truck driver involved in a confrontation over a parking space at a gas station, leading to the driver pulling out a gun and firing shots, injuring 34-year-old Anan. The incident occurred on Kanchanaphisek Road at approximately 8:00 AM. Anan was shot in the right side of his abdomen with a 9mm handgun, but fortunately, the bullet did not hit any vital organs. Police recovered four spent shell casings from the scene.
The shooter fled the scene in a black Mitsubishi four-door pickup truck, with the license plate remaining unidentified, and was last seen heading towards Bang Kruai. Anan, after receiving initial first aid, was advised to file a report at Bang Yai Police Station.
Anan recounted that he was on his way from Sanam Bin Nam to work in the Rama 2 area when he stopped at the gas station. While waiting for a parking space, the black Mitsubishi pulled in and parked, leading to an argument with the driver. The driver subsequently brandished a gun and fired at Anan, who was forced to seek cover. The incident also resulted in a Toyota sedan, license plate 6 KGH 4460 Bangkok, being struck by stray bullets.
Bang Yai Police investigators are currently scrutinizing CCTV footage from the gas station and along the escape route to apprehend the perpetrator and bring them to justice.
