Bangkok: Four Myanmar nationals were apprehended along with 10 drones that were causing disruptions at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Police executed a raid on a hotel room in the Lat Krabang area, leading to the arrest. The room was identified as the control center for the drones, which were reported to have created disturbances at the airport. The suspects claimed they were acting under the instructions of their employer, who had directed them to await the delivery of the drones by a transport truck for future resale in Myanmar.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, spearheaded the operation following intelligence that pinpointed the hotel room as the hub for controlling the drones. The apprehended individuals admitted to being contacted by their Myanmar-based boss to receive the drones, which were transported by disassembling and packing them into boxes to be shipped via regular passenger flights.
All the drones were seized by authorities and transferred to the Lat Krabang Police Station. The visas of the four Myanmar nationals were initially revoked before they were taken into custody for further investigation.
