Bangkok: Flood relief funds have been successfully distributed to 548,126 households across Thailand, totaling 4,933,134,000 baht.
According to Thai News Agency, the transfer of these funds took place between December 1st and 4th, marking a significant development in the ongoing efforts to support flood-affected communities in the country.
Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that following the lifting of the state of emergency in Songkhla Province, the Royal Thai Army Forward Disaster Relief Center (RTDCR) will now oversee assistance operations. The center is tasked with directing, controlling, and integrating relief efforts with local military units and relevant government agencies to ensure that aid is delivered efficiently and rapidly.
Reports from the Government Savings Bank indicate that the relief fund transfer has been substantial, with 548,126 households receiving assistance. Additionally, on December 5th, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation forwarded the names of 62,935 more households eligible for relief, amounting to 566,415,000 baht, all residents of Songkhla Province.
Mr. Paradorn expressed gratitude on behalf of the Prime Minister to all sectors involved in the relief operations, including officials, local administrators, military units, volunteers, and the public. He emphasized the government's commitment to revitalizing communities and the economy, aiming to alleviate hardship and restore normalcy for those affected by the floods.
