Triggered by heavy rains for two consecutive days, flash flood swept through a large area in Muang Pan district of Lampang province on Friday, submerging over 30 houses and causing extensive damage to rice fields
Muang Pan district officials who inspected the flood-hit villages said that the flood water level in some villages was about one metre high.
In Tambon Hua Muang, Tambon Ban Khor and Tambon Thung Kwo, large areas of rice farm were under water, causing extensive damage to rice plants. Harvested paddy which were dried in the open were swept away with farmers unable to collect them in time.
