Fire Engulfs Wooden House in Lopburi, Prompting Swift Emergency Response

Lopburi: A devastating fire raged through a wooden house, turning it into a sea of flames. Officials dispatched nearly 20 water trucks to extinguish the blaze, which took over an hour to bring under control.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred around 7:30 PM yesterday, October 17, 2015, at a car repair shop, which had been closed for seven years, located on the Lopburi-Khok Kateiam irrigation canal road in Thale Chup Son subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi district. The fire originated in an old two-story wooden house.

Mrs. Chalor, the 49-year-old wife of the garage owner, stated that she was home alone before the incident. She reported hearing a loud explosion downstairs and ran to investigate, only to find the fire raging. Despite suffering burns to her forehead and right wrist, she managed to flee the premises. Unfortunately, she was unable to retrieve any belongings but expressed gratitude for the authorities’ swift control of the fire.

An inspection revealed that many items stored in the garage were high-quality fuel, which could have exacerbated the situation. Fortunately, authorities contained the blaze quickly, preventing damage to neighboring commercial buildings. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police forensics, and the cost of the damage is yet to be determined. Responsible agencies have provided relief assistance.
