Fire at Nakhon Pathom’s tourist landmark market Bang Luang

An ancient wooden market, Talad Bang Luang, a tourist landmark in Nakhon Pathom province was engulfed by a huge fire this morning, forcing traders and vendors to flee in panic.

The wooden shop house market Ror Sor 122 is a unique old market where most of the 100 shophouses are wooden houses built over a hundred years ago.

It was not immediately known the cause of the fire but the fire spread quickly because of the wooden materials.

Over a dozen of fire trucks arrived shortly after they were alerted, and kept the fire under limited area two hours later.

About 30 houses were burnt to ashes.

Nobody was hurt in the fire but the fire forced shopowners, traders, vendors and shoppers to run in panic
