Zurich: FIFA has appointed Nualphan Lamsam, the president of the Football Association of Thailand, as the Chairperson of FIFA's Development Committee for the 2025-2029 term, marking a historic first for the organization. According to Thai News Agency, the International Football Association Board officially approved the appointment of Nualphan Lamsam on October 7, 2025. Her leadership will guide the Development Committee, which is a pivotal permanent committee under FIFA that reports directly to President Gianni Infantino and the FIFA Council. The Development Committee is responsible for overseeing FIFA's development programme, which extends to all 211 member associations. It plays a crucial role in planning, proposing, and reviewing strategies and analyzing the support provided to member associations, confederations, and zonal and regional associations globally. Additionally, Mr. Lertsak Pattanachaikul from the Football Association of Thailand's board of directors has been appointed to the Member Associat ions Committee of FIFA.
