Bangkok: The Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD) has detained Tonthong Sukkaen, widely known as "Tone Bang Khae," for questioning following a raid on two locations associated with him. The operation involved a search of his residence and amulet company, both situated in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province.
According to Thai News Agency, officers from Division 4 of the ECSD conducted the raid and subsequently escorted Tone Bang Khae to the Pitaksanti Building, Central Investigation Bureau, for further questioning. Despite the circumstances, Tone Bang Khae appeared before the media wearing a cast on his left arm, maintaining a composed demeanor. He expressed his readiness to undergo the legal process, stating, "The more I'm investigated, the more dignified I become. I am happy to go through the process." He further asserted his confidence in his innocence.
During the interaction with reporters, Tone Bang Khae reiterated his willingness to prove his innocence and dismissed any speculation of evasion, saying, "I confirm that I never fled." When inquired about his whereabouts the previous night, he simply mentioned, "I didn't go anywhere." As for whether he voluntarily presented himself or was apprehended by the police, he clarified, "To demonstrate my innocence. I came to demonstrate my innocence and enter the legal process." However, he remained silent when questioned about surveillance cameras.
It is anticipated that investigators will continue questioning Tone Bang Khae throughout the night, following which he will be detained at the police station building before being brought to the Criminal Court for remand proceedings the next day.
