Bangkok: An urgent forensic autopsy has been conducted on Mr. Bowornthat Pengsuk, also known as Hlun Solo, as his family raises concerns over possible toxins in his body. Hlun's older brother has urged a thorough investigation, emphasizing the absence of physical abuse signs, and has declared the family's intention to pursue legal action if the findings differ from those provided by Georgian authorities. The family received only Hlun's passport among his belongings.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Somsak Butsri, known as "Moss," disclosed that this autopsy is the first conducted on Hlun. The family has expressed their trust in the Ministry of Justice's forensic medical team to perform an exhaustive examination, focusing on potential toxins in Hlun's body and heart, as well as exploring other possible causes of death. Previously, Georgian authorities had not furnished the family with any substantial information regarding the autopsy results, only providing a death certificate and indicating that Hlun's remains and DNA would be collected. Details about which parts of the remains will be collected or what specific tests will be conducted remain unclear.
The family is particularly keen on examining the results for toxins, as the initial examination did not reveal any physical assault or external injuries. They have dismissed rumors suggesting Hlun's death was attributed to sudden infant death syndrome, citing a lack of confirmation and uncertainty regarding his health conditions.
Should evidence of physical abuse surface, the family is prepared to exercise their legal rights to seek justice for Hlun. The return of Hlun's belongings has been limited to his passport alone.
The autopsy results are anticipated by tomorrow, after which Hlun's body is set to be transported back to Kalasin Province for religious ceremonies. The family plans to discuss cremation arrangements subsequently. In the interim, Hlun's grandmother remains in good spirits, longing for Hlun's return home, albeit uncertain of her reaction upon seeing his body.
