Extending ID Verification for COVID-19 Handout Scheme for Insured Persons

The Cabinet on 9 March 2021 approved the Ministry of Labor’s proposal to extend the identity-verification period for insured persons registering for the financial relief scheme "Mo 33 Rao Rak Kan” from 15 March to 31 May.

The Government in February agreed to provide a 4,000-baht COVID-19 handout for insured persons under Section 33 of the Social Security Act to ease their financial burdens during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 4,000-baht handout will be transferred to them through the g-Wallet application "Pao Tang.”

Registrants under the financial relief scheme are divided into three groups. The first group includes those who authenticate their identities from 15 March to 21 March. They will be given 1,000 baht per week for four consecutive weeks, on 22 March, 29 March, 5 April, and 12 April.

The second group includes registrants who authenticate their identities from 22 March to 11 April. They will be given 2,000 baht on 29 March and then 1,000 baht on 5 April and another 1,000 baht on 12 April.

The third group consists of registrants who do the authentication between 12 April and 31 May. They will be given the whole 4,000-baht payment at once.

The insured persons or the general public may seek more information on this issue on the hotline of the Ministry of Labor, 1506.
