Erawan Waterfall Restored After Heavy Rains

Manila:Si Sawat District The head of Erawan National Park, Mr. Pipat Chimplee, led a team to clear the area surrounding Erawan Waterfall after heavy rains caused significant damage, including a crack in the Erawan elephant statue's head.

According to Thai News Agency, recent heavy rainfall resulted in a large accumulation of water at the mountaintop's headwaters, known as Hua Chang Erawan, causing overflow from the 7th to the 1st tier of the waterfall. This led to branches and leaves falling across the tiers, damaging tourist accommodations and causing landslides. Large logs were swept down by strong currents, contributing to the damage.

Efforts are underway by officials to clean and restore each level of the waterfall, aiming to bring back its beauty and vibrancy. The Erawan National Park Facebook page reported that the situation is now safe and the water is once again clear.
