Bangkok: The Thailand Nuclear Technology Institute (TINT), in collaboration with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and 13 other organizations from government, academia, and industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the "Hub of Talents for Nuclear Energy Technology" (HOTNET). This initiative aims to create a collaborative network in nuclear energy technology, prepare skilled personnel, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support Thai youth participation on the international stage.
According to Thai News Agency, the establishment of the HOTNET center marks a significant step in building a collaborative network for nuclear energy technology in Thailand. The center will integrate nuclear energy research and development with partner networks to facilitate knowledge exchange, develop human resource capabilities, and support research and development. It also aims to foster cooperation with international organizations, enhance public understanding of nuclear energy technology, and contribute to Thailand's sustainable economic, social, and national development.
The event also featured an awards ceremony for the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO2026) and the presentation of plaques of appreciation to sponsoring organizations, with Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presenting the awards.
In previous years, EGAT has supported the Nuclear Olympiad project, and this year, the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) selected four promising students to participate. These students underwent a preparatory camp in nuclear science before competing in INSO2026, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where they won medals: one gold, one silver, and two bronze.
