The closing date of the Dusit Zoo has been postponed by one month from the end of August to Sept 30, according to a release of the zoo's public relations office.
The Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand had earlier announced that the Dusit Zoo in the heart of Bangkok will be closed at the end of August. The zoo will be relocated to a new location on a plot of land in Khlong 6 area in Pathum Thani's Thanyaburi district. During the relocation, wild animals in the zoo will be transferred to temporarily stay at six other zoos throughout the country.
The zoo said in its release that since after the closure of the Dusit Zoo was announced, large numbers of people have been visiting the zoo, the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand decided to postpone the closing date to Sept 30.
