Bangkok: The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has submitted the indictment file against Chonphat in connection to an online gambling case, marking a significant escalation in legal proceedings. On Sunday, August 24, 2026, at 9:30 AM, a team of investigators from the DSI delivered the comprehensive indictment report to the Public Prosecutor's Office on Ratchadaphisek Road. This dossier against Mr. Chanonphat Naksua, a Member of Parliament for Constituency 4, Songkhla Province, of the Kla Tham Party, comprised six boxes containing over 30 files, amounting to a total of 12,000 pages. The charges, considered serious by the Attorney General, include conspiracy under Section 209 of the Criminal Code and involvement in a transnational organized crime syndicate under the Act on Prevention and Suppression of Participation in Transnational Organized Crime B.E. 2556 (2013).
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chanonphat arrived at 10:40 AM and declared his intention to engage fully with the legal process, including the filing of charges with the Special Prosecutor's Office. He acknowledged the situation at the prosecutor's level and clarified that no appeal has been lodged so far. However, he has prepared a nine-point document seeking fairness, which he initially submitted to the DSI. Mr. Chanonphat also noted that he does not possess parliamentary immunity during the upcoming session of the House of Representatives, as it only pertains to investigations and summonses. He likened his continuous legal troubles to a "storm," but asserted that as a fighter, he is determined to gradually resolve them. He remains confident in his innocence and his ability to vindicate himself in court.
