Buriram: The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is ready to proceed with the Khao Kradong case, undeterred by a change in government. They revealed that they are awaiting additional documents from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and the Land Department, which may conclude that the case will be considered a special case.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Col. Nattaphon Disayatham, Director of the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division, revealed progress in the investigation into the Khao Kradong land case in Buriram Province. He stated that the investigation, for which he is the head of the investigative team, is currently gathering evidence from relevant agencies. He also previously questioned State Railway of Thailand officials who filed complaints. The State Railway of Thailand will gradually hand over evidence to investigators. The investigation will then begin, including data received from the Buriram Provincial Land Office. All data has been submitted to the DSI's Map Division for analysis. After this, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) will await the official release of the disputed map documents from the State Railway of Thailand.
The DSI has also requested information from the Land Department, but the Department has not yet responded. If they do, they will be able to determine whether to accept this as a special case. Therefore, they are currently awaiting additional documentation and evidence from the Land Department and the State Railway of Thailand.
Regarding witness questioning, the focus remains on officials from the State Railway of Thailand and the Buriram Provincial Land Office, Department of Lands. No witnesses have yet been summoned for questioning, as gathering documentary evidence is currently the most important priority, particularly information contained in the land registry.
When asked whether the appointment of a new Director-General of the Land Department to the Ministry of Interior or the replacement of the Minister of Justice would affect the investigation, Pol. Lt. Col. Nattapol reiterated that the Khao Kradong case process is being conducted within the framework of its authority. The allegations leveled by the State Railway of Thailand must be compiled in accordance with the law and handled with integrity. Furthermore, as they operate as a team of investigators, a meeting of the investigators is required before any action can be taken, based on all the evidence obtained.
Today, a reserve senator team led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrob Panya Kaew and fellow members presented a bouquet of flowers to Pol. Lt. Col. Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and the investigators involved in Special Case No. 24/2568 (2025), regarding money laundering offenses involving individuals or groups involved in the acquisition of senators, including members of a secret society and their supporters, or the secret society-money laundering case. They are urging the senator to investigate the case and pursue the case to the fullest extent of the law. Pol. Lt. Col. Woranan Srilam, Director of the Consumer Protection Division and DSI spokesperson, was present to receive the bouquet.
