Bangkok: Dr. Mallika Boonmeetrakul Mahasuk exercised her right to vote in the Bangkok gubernatorial and Bangkok City Council elections, urging all Bangkok residents to seize the opportunity to vote, which occurs only once every four years. She arrived at polling station number 10 in the Nakhon Chai Si Subdistrict of Dusit District at 9:15 AM to cast her vote.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Mallika noted that she slept well the night before the elections but felt unusual not being engaged in her usual campaign activities. Over the past 30 days, she had been actively visiting constituencies and interacting with the public. She expressed satisfaction with her efforts during the campaign period, emphasizing that she had given her utmost.
Dr. Mallika emphasized the importance of voting, particularly encouraging residents to vote in the morning when the weather is generally more favorable. She cautioned that rain might occur after 3 PM and advised voters to carry umbrellas, referencing the weather forecast from the Meteorological Department.
The polling station at Setthasathian School on Rama 5 Road, which opened to the public at 8:00 AM, serves 702 eligible voters for the Bangkok Governor election and 697 eligible voters for the Bangkok City Council election. Of these, 4 individuals are only eligible to vote for the Bangkok Governor due to recent relocations to Dusit District, and 1 person has been disqualified from voting.
In this election, polling station number 10 has 5 candidates running for the Bangkok City Council and 18 candidates vying for the position of Bangkok Governor.
