Bangkok: Narcotics Suppression Bureau police and FDA officials raided a factory in the Udomsuk area, seizing transnational psychotropic substances worth over 320 million baht. Police Lieutenant General Archayon Kraithong, Commander of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, along with Pharmacist Suphattra Bunserm, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), led a team of officers to search a factory on Soi Prawit and Friends in the Udomsuk area. This operation was part of an effort to dismantle a transnational psychotropic substance network.
According to Thai News Agency, the operation stemmed from an expansion of the seizure of Category 2 psychotropic substances destined for the United States and several other countries, leading to the arrest of four additional members of the network. During the factory search, five workers were found producing kratom water. In addition to this location, five other sites were searched in the Rom Klao area of Lat Krabang District.
The workers were apprehended and seized for examination, along with 27,500 bottles of cough syrup and 50,000 Tramadol tablets. Authorities also seized assets related to the crimes, including houses, land, cars, and jewelry, valued at over 320 million baht.
