Deputy Minister of Defense Visits Border Forces to Boost Morale and Emphasize Sovereignty


Chanthaburi: Deputy Minister of Defense inspected border forces in Chanthaburi-Trat, boosting morale among troops, emphasizing “Protecting sovereignty is an honorable mission for Thai soldiers.”



According to Thai News Agency, at 11:00 a.m. on October 23, 2015, Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense, along with his delegation, visited Trat Province to assess and receive a briefing on the security missions of the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Force (CBTDF). This unit is tasked with overseeing the Thai-Cambodian border area, and the Deputy Minister took the opportunity to provide guidance to the border personnel.



During his visit, the Deputy Minister paid homage to the statues of King Taksin the Great and Prince of Chumphon Khet Udomsak, seeking good fortune. He also presented morale-boosting gifts to military units in the area, aiming to uplift the spirits of the personnel who are dedicated to their duties.



The Deputy Minister of Defense was briefed on the unit’s operations by key officials, including Rear Admiral Wirachai Leekha, Deputy Commander of the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Force (NCDF), Rear Admiral Charamphakon Phromphakon, Deputy Commander of the NCDF, the Chief of Staff of the CBTDF, the Commander of the Trat Provincial Marine Task Force, and the Head of the 3rd Marine Ranger Control Unit.



Following the meeting, Lt. Gen. Adul traveled to the Marine Corps Task Force in Trat Province to further inspect border security operations and survey the terrain. This was done to gain a direct understanding of the operational situation on the ground.



This mission underscores the Ministry of Defense’s dedication to maintaining territorial integrity and public safety. It also highlights their commitment to fostering sustainable cooperation with neighboring countries, guided by principles of humanity and international law.



Lt. Gen. Adul reiterated to his troops, “Nation means the land and the people, and sovereignty is the heart of our security, which we will protect with the honor and dignity of the Thai military. May all our troops be proud. We will preserve His Majesty’s legacy with our lives.”
